# Fabdose Fabdose is a local-first Design for Manufacturability (DFM) analysis desktop application for product designers. ## What Fabdose Does Fabdose analyzes CAD files for manufacturability issues before a product reaches manufacturing. It flags wall thickness violations, draft angle problems, undercuts, and process-fit issues. It produces cost estimates and a 3D viewer with pinned issue markers. Analysis runs entirely on the user's computer. CAD files never leave the computer. ## Who It Is For Fabdose is built for product designers, not manufacturing engineers. It is useful during the design phase to catch DFM problems early without sending files to a factory. It does not require Fusion 360, SolidWorks, or any other CAD application installed. ## Supported File Types Input: STEP and STP files (ISO 10303 CAD exchange format). ## Supported Manufacturing Processes Today: 10 processes. - Plastics (6): injection molding, extrusion, blow molding, thermoforming, compression molding, plastic 3D printing. - Metals (4): CNC machining, sheet metal, die casting, metal 3D printing. Expanding to 14 fully-supported processes in upcoming releases. ## Local-First Privacy All analysis computation happens locally on the user's machine. CAD geometry and design drawings are never transmitted to Fabdose servers. Analysis results (defect findings, cost summary, file hash, file name) are synced to the cloud for cross-device history. ## Pricing Free tier: 5 analyses (no credit card required). An account is required (Google or email sign-up). Pro tier: $35 per month. Unlimited analyses plus multi-process auto-comparison PDF reports.
